What St. Cloud is
St. Cloud is its own city in Osceola County, separate from Kissimmee. It sits on the south shore of East Lake Tohopekaliga, which locals call East Lake Toho. City Hall is at 1300 9th Street.
The city was founded on April 16, 1909, as a colony for Union veterans of the Civil War, and it was nicknamed the "Soldier City." It was incorporated on January 3, 1911. The original street grid near the lake is still there. Its north–south avenues are named after states, like New York and Pennsylvania, and the east–west streets are numbered.

Homes in St. Cloud
Most of the land inside city limits is used for single-family homes, according to the city's master plan. There are two main styles. Older homes sit on the traditional street grid near East Lake Toho. Newer suburban neighborhoods are mostly south of Nolte Road.
You'll also see townhomes and newer communities as you go out along the main roads. Some neighborhoods have an HOA, a CDD, or both, and others have neither. That's why we check each home on its own: roof and AC age, insurance quotes, flood zone, and any association documents.
