What Horizon West is
Horizon West is a large planned area in unincorporated west Orange County. It grew under an Orange County plan that organizes it into villages, each with its own neighborhoods, plus a town center at Hamlin. Most homes have Winter Garden or Windermere mailing addresses.
Much of the housing is new or recent construction, and many neighborhoods carry both an HOA and a CDD. Builder communities can have different rules from resale neighborhoods next door, so we check each home on its own.

- SR 429 (Western Beltway, toll) runs through the area, north toward SR 408 and Apopka and south to I-4 near Disney.
- Winter Garden–Vineland Road (SR 535) runs north–south through the area.
- Drive times depend on traffic and time of day. Test your own commute at rush hour before you buy.
